The Problem
In moments of crisis, people are eager to help, but uncertainty about how donations are used often leads to hesitation. Traditional platforms don’t offer enough transparency, and crypto-native options are too technical for the average donor.
The Goal
Design a donation experience that is accessible, transparent, and emotionally engaging. The platform should make it easy to contribute via credit card or crypto, while offering real-time insights into how funds are used.
Design Approach
Phase 1 – Discovery & Research
I interviewed donors on platforms like GoFundMe and analyzed existing Web3 donation tools. The key insights:
Donors want transparency, not complexity.
Emotional storytelling increases trust.
Real-time updates build engagement and credibility.
Phase 2 – Strategy & Problem Definition
Based on research, I defined three strategic priorities:
Simplify the donation flow (including fiat-to-crypto conversion)
Make fund usage and project milestones visible
Connect donors to the human impact of their support
Phase 3 – Ideation and Design
Although I started with high-fidelity wireframes, I later backtracked to define core user flows and lo-fi sketches. I created responsive UI designs that prioritized thumb-friendly navigation, clear hierarchy, and emotional resonance.
I also developed the branding, including the logotype, color palette, and typography, as well as a compact design guideline for consistency across screens.
The Solution
Impacta offers a smooth, transparent experience that bridges the gap between crypto and cause-driven donations:
Dual payment methods: users can donate via credit card or connect a wallet
Fiat-to-crypto conversion: stablecoins like USDT make impact traceable
Impact dashboard: users see how their contribution helps reach a project’s goal
Emotional design: real stories, visuals and metrics create a sense of trust and connection
Highlights
Fully responsive high-fidelity prototype in Figma
Brand and UI system
Focus on clarity, emotion, and accessibility
Realistic end-to-end user flow, including Web3 wallet interaction
What I Learned
This project challenged me to translate complex blockchain mechanics into simple, human-centered design. I also reinforced the importance of process: next time, I’ll begin with low-fidelity exploration before jumping into visual design.
What's Next
Impacta is not a live product, but it represents how digital tools can build trust and connection in moments that matter. I see potential for this concept to evolve into a modular tool for NGOs or DAOs to manage crisis fundraising with transparency.
